Geneva residents may be visited by workers in hard hats and wearing uniforms who may be knocking on a few doors through the end of the year as they check utility poles across the the city.

It’s all part of a new program to test the safety of utility poles, the city said in a release.

The crews, hired through outside vendor Mi-Tech Services, will travel in trucks bearing the city’s contractor logo and will have their credentials handy, the release said.
