Meeting 02

City of Geneva International Cultural Exchange Committee met April 11.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

1. Meeting was called to order at 5:13

2. Members Present: Albright, Cabeen, Kraus, Bald, Chalberg-Pool, Alderfer, Snyder, SPAC member present: Merrill Guests: Lisa Murphy, Mary Jane Johnson, Larry Johnson, and Sasha Urban

3. Approval of January Minutes: Alderfer moved Cabeen second

4. Treasurers Report: Per Angela Chalberg-Pool our committee has approximately $3,000 in our account. Proceeds from the Photo Exhibit at WSS were $360, a $100 private donation, and $117 from NRC silent auction split. The combined total of that is $550 which offsets the approximate $750 expenses for the Croissy Exhibit. Upcoming expense: $32 to renew our Go Daddy 2 year contract.

5. Spring Delegation to Croissy: May 19-23 we have nine people in our delegation traveling to Croissy. Cynthia will bring 5-6 pictures of historic Geneva buildings (and were part of the Croissy Photo Exhibit) and the Tale of Two Cities trivet to present to Croissy sans Frontieres as thank you gifts for hosting the delegation. There will be a small informal informational meeting held at Denise and Mark Snyder’s home for delegation members on April 18. This meeting will give Cynthia the opportunity to provide the itinerary for our visit and address other important information and questions regarding the delegation visit.

6. Business Cards: Cynthia has proposed having unnamed business cards printed for ICEC. These will be used for various uses including soliciting city vendors for various events. Kari Kraus will create a simple business card design for these cards.

7. ECI: Marissa Parker has had her annual visit to GHS and the middle schools in the beginning of March. She reported to Pam Cabeen that she has had an overwhelming response from Geneva families interested in hosting French students. ICEC is considering changing the afternoon visit to Geneva that we host with both visiting summer sessions. Ideas for that visit are still being mulled over and no definite plans are set as of yet. Marissa is now in direct communication with Jony Garner

8. Foreign Film Sunday: as per David Bald, all is running smoothly. No film in June due to Swedish Days.

9. We will continue to look at updating ICEC webpage on city website.

10. Meeting adjourned: 6:05
