Geneva has been named the best area for dining, shopping and festivals by readers of West Suburban Living magazine.
The city also was chosen as the place non-Geneva residents would most like to move. In the 20 years the magazine has hosted the contest, no community has won more times than Geneva.
Galena and Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, were picked as the best weekend getaway spots, but Geneva was just behind, in third place.
Geneva's "Festival of the Vine" and "Swedish Days" earned first place and honorable mention, respectively, in the “Best Fair or Festival” category. The Geneva Arts Fair ranked second for “Best Craft or Art Fair,” while the Geneva French Market took third for “Best Farmers Market.”
Many Geneva businesses -- primarily restaurants and retail shops -- were noted among the best in the western suburbsof Chicago. The results of the survey are available on the magazine's website at http://www.westsuburbanliving.net/March-2017/2017-Best-of-the-West/.
