Waubonsee Community College gears up for upcoming wedding, event planning course
Waubonsee Community College is offering a wedding and event planning course that begins this week.
The course, called “Become a Certified Wedding and Event Planner,” takes place 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Thursday evenings starting tomorrow, Feb. 16. The course runs through May 4 and is held at the college’s Sugar Grove campus.
Offered in partnership with the Lovegevity Wedding Planning Institute, the course teaches students how to run such a business, as well as how to develop networking skills and client relationship-management skills. Event planning discussions include anniversaries, birthday parties and baby showers, with complete formulas for figuring out the best ways to plan such events.
Course fees of $995 include a textbook, all materials and the certification exam fee. Completion of the course grants students with certification.
