Crossing with yellow flashing: Safety concerns in the news with death

of a biker in Rolling Meadows. Commission supports federal

guidelines. If federal changed law to the red flashing lights over

the roads, we would support that. Better to have what we have

than nothing. Randy can share our comments with the police

chief. We suggest posting signs to tell bikers to be careful and

always look for cars stopping before they cross.

Green Fair Bike Swap- August 13. John has help for 3 shifts, but

PLEASE come anytime if you can help. Share facebook post. Closes at

4 so will be busy then getting bikes picked up and money divided up.

Scott will call bike shops. Randy will put up info on fire station signs if

possible.

Two Brothers Ride- August 28- Meet at city hall at 11:00, ride to 2

Brothers, eat lunch, tour at 1; ride back. WE CAN NOT DO THIS RIDE

UNLESS 1-2 MEMBERS OFFER TO CHAIR AND GUARANTEE THEY CAN

LEAD THE RIDE. RANDY CAN RIDE, AND MATT KNOWLES OFFERED

TO RIDE…ANYONE ELSE….PLEASE LET JOHN KNOW BY WEDNESDAY

AFTERNOON.

Ride to City: Sept 25…need to determine route and destination. Can

have 2 points to leave from: Batavia and Wheaton. Need a pre ride

meeting to work out logistics.

Ride Illinois: Conference is Sept 19 in Bloomington-Normal, 9:30-3:30.

BBC members may want to ride together on Sat or Sunday and do the

organized group rides. LET JOHN KNOW IF YOU WANT TO GO WITH

HIM ON SUNDAY OR MONDAY MORNING.

From Randy: new apartment building at Washington and Rt. 25 will

have bike racks. And at Kirk and Fabyan crossing, bike path will be

reconstructed to extend to N to ice arena. And extend E to Country

House. Batavia asked that they extend it to the hotel nearby, and IDOT

said no. Start 2017. Will be temporary closures on bike trail.

Bike Friendly Community application has to be redone and submitted

in the spring. Amy will work on this and Bicycle Friendly Businesses.
