Central Community Unit School District 301 announced several community updates and events this week through its official social media account, including a new Trunk or Treat event at Central High School and a recap of recent district activities.

On October 17, the district posted about an upcoming community event: " NEW EVENT ALERT! Central High School’s first-ever Trunk or Treat is coming Wednesday, Oct. 22 from 4–6 PM — and everyone in Central 301 is invited! Join us outside Door 10 for candy, costumes (optional!), and community fun hosted by our CHS Drama Club. #WeAreCentral https://t.co/ms0n17hLD8".

Later that same day, another post highlighted ongoing activities within the school district: " FRIDAY FOCUS Here’s a look at what’s happening across Central 301 this week: LINK: https://t.co/fdzESrQV0W Thanks for staying connected to all the great things happening in Central 301. The following morning, on October 18, the district celebrated athletic success with an update on its football team: "FINAL: Undefeated on the road for the 2nd straight regular season. Senior night next week! #WeAreCentral #IHSA https://t.co/gw8ePcmHtN".

Central Community Unit School District 301 serves Kane and DeKalb counties and includes multiple schools such as Central High School, Central Middle School, Country Trails Elementary School, Howard B. Thomas Grade School, Lily Lake Grade School, Prairie Knolls Middle School, and Prairie View Grade School (source). The district employs approximately 280 teachers with an average salary of $58,199; most teachers are women and none have more than ten absences annually (source). Demographically, the student body is comprised of approximately 65 percent White students, with Hispanic (16.5 percent), Asian (12.2 percent), and Black (2.1 percent) students making up the remainder (source). In fiscal year 2020, per-student spending was $19,244 for a total budget of over $84 million (source).
