Kane County taxpayers paid $898,974 in County Motor Fuel Tax in August, according to Illinois tax records.

This figure marks a noticeable increase over the previous month, when County Motor Fuel Tax collection stood at $876,931.

Over the past 12 months, Kane County's residents have collectively paid a total of $10.6 million in County Motor Fuel Tax.

The County Motor Fuel Tax is a local sales tax levied on motor fuels, with revenue dedicated to transportation infrastructure projects such as road construction, maintenance, and repair. It aims to enhance road conditions, improve safety, and facilitate efficient transportation.
