Central Community Unit School District 301 highlights school news and safety drills

Central Community Unit School District 301, which serves parts of Kane and DeKalb counties in Illinois, shared several updates on its official Twitter account this week regarding school activities and achievements.

On September 5, 2025, the district posted a summary of weekly events: " FRIDAY FOCUS Here’s a look at what’s happening across Central 301 this week: LINK: https://t.co/iPunaFQgp0 Thanks for staying connected to all the great things happening in Central 301. The following day, on September 6, the district celebrated a significant milestone for its football team with the tweet: "FINAL: The Rockets hold on for a nail-biting win to go to 2-0 for the first time in 21 years! #WeAreCentral https://t.co/yFUXiVIVAM".

On September 7, an announcement was made about upcoming safety drills: " Bus Evacuation Drill Week Central 301 will conduct our annual school bus evacuation drills this week as an important way to re-educate students. The goal: To evacuate a bus safely & efficiently within two minutes. Check out the full schedule here #WeAreCentral https://t.co/C7ZEwkpKOv".

Central Community Unit School District 301 includes several schools such as Central High School and Prairie View Grade School. According to data from the Illinois State Board of Education, the district employs approximately 280 teachers with an average salary of $58,199; about three-quarters are women. Teacher attendance is notable, with no teachers exceeding ten absences annually (source).

Demographically, the student body is composed of approximately 65 percent White students, with Hispanic students making up over sixteen percent and Asian students over twelve percent (source). In fiscal year 2020, spending per student was $19,244 for a total expenditure of nearly $85 million (source).
