Geneva's financial reporting has once again been recognized on a national level, receiving several prestigious awards for its efforts in governmental accounting and transparency. The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada, which serves over 20,000 government finance professionals, has acknowledged Geneva's accomplishments.

The City was awarded for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the 12th consecutive year. This report includes financial statements from the past decade, along with property tax and debt data, showcasing Geneva's commitment to transparency.

Additionally, Geneva received recognition for its Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) for the ninth year in a row. This 20-page summary is designed to help residents understand municipal finance through photos and graphs.

For fiscal year 2025-26, Geneva also earned the Distinguished Budget Award. This marks the 15th consecutive year of recognition for meeting best practice standards in budget preparation. To achieve this award, Geneva's budget documents were evaluated as "proficient" across multiple criteria.

Geneva’s budget and financial reports are accessible on the City's website.
