Geneva will see an adjustment in its garbage collection rates starting Tuesday, July 1. This change is part of the city's ongoing contract with LRS.
The cost of a refuse sticker will increase to $4.32. However, residents who have already purchased stickers at the previous rate of $4.13 can continue using them without incurring any additional charges. The price for optional garbage cart subscriptions is also set to rise by about $1 per billing cycle.
Additional optional refuse products and services that will see updated prices include 20-gallon bags priced at $2.73 and 65-gallon yard waste carts costing $174.72 annually.
Waste stickers are available for purchase online through a secure payment portal or in person at the Geneva Finance Department located at 15 S. First St., as well as at participating local retailers.
Refuse collection during the week of June 30 will be delayed by one day for Friday customers due to the Independence Day holiday, with normal schedules resuming the following week.
