The City’s Natural Resources Committee is set to highlight Illinois' prairie ecosystems in an upcoming lecture series. The event will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, at the Geneva Public Library, located at 227 S. Seventh St.

A naturalist from the Geneva Park District, stationed at Peck Farm Park, will lead the presentation. The discussion will cover common characteristics of Illinois prairies and delve into various plants and animals found in these ecosystems. Additionally, methods used by land managers to preserve this landscape will be explored.

Attendance is free, but registration is recommended. More information about the event can be found on the Geneva Public Library District’s website.
