Batavia residents affected by recent storm damage to their electric service are required to take specific steps for repairs. Residents must first contact a licensed electrician to fix the service riser. Following this, they need to obtain a building permit, though fees for storm-related work will be waived.
Applications for permits should be submitted via email to permits@bataviail.gov with "Electric Storm Damage" in the subject line or delivered in person at 100 N. Island Ave. The online system is not available for storm repair applications.
Once repairs are completed, an inspection by Community Development is necessary before Batavia Electric can restore power. For further inquiries, residents can call 630-454-2000.
