2025 Police Officer Testing

2025 Lateral Certified Police Officer Testing

The deadline for applying for the lateral police officer testing was extended from April 21, 2025, to May 5, 2025, to give more people time to apply. The final total was 9 applications. The testing company will let us know if all the applicants are eligible to take the test. All eligible applicants will take the test online between May 20-22, 2025.

2025 Primary (Entry & Certified) Police Officer Testing

The 2024 Primary Police Officer eligibility is getting close to being exhausted. Chief Blowers recommends that the board conduct another in-person police test in August 2025. The reason for testing is that if the department needs to replace officers between now and next summer, they will need more candidates to fill the vacancies. In-person testing can only be done during the summer because the commissioners use the middle school for testing and that is when the school is available. Should the 2024 list still have candidates on the list at that time, the board will combine the 2025 list with the 2024 list. The 2024 candidates will have the opportunity to test again and use the highest score for placement on the list and they will move their expiration date to the new expiration date. If they don’t wish to test again, they will be placed on the combined list with the previous score and expiration date. The board asked recording secretary Joanne Miller to reach out to the testing company to see if there is an opening in August for testing.
