ComEd is set to begin tree trimming operations near electric lines in Geneva during May and June. The primary areas of focus will include Kirk Road, the Union Pacific-West Railway tracks, and the Illinois Prairie Path.

The trimming operations are planned for mid-May and June, with the schedule contingent on weather conditions, as stated by ComEd.

Geneva operates its own electric utility, but it relies on ComEd power lines to feed its substations. This connection allows Geneva to receive energy purchased from PJM, its regional service transmission provider.

ComEd emphasizes that its vegetation management program is crucial for maintaining electrical reliability. Tree branches coming into contact with power lines are a common cause of outages.

Residents affected by the tree trimming will be notified by ComEd. For further details and a project map, residents can visit the ComEd tree trimming web page.
