GO Painters will commence the sandblasting and painting of 31 hydrants in the Village starting March 6, 2025. This marks the second year of a three-year hydrant maintenance program.

The preventive maintenance aims to ensure the proper function and longevity of the hydrants. The process involves three steps: sandblasting to remove old paint, applying a primer for good paint adhesion which temporarily paints the hydrant white, and finally, applying a red coat as the final paint layer.
