The Geneva Public Works Department has adjusted the schedule for the water main improvements on Anderson Boulevard near State Street (Route 38). Originally set for April 14, the work has been postponed to April 22 due to incomplete utility locates required in the area.

Commencing at 8 a.m. on April 22, the crews will operate in the northbound lane of Anderson Boulevard, near the intersection with State Street. This will prevent motorists on State Street from making left or right turns to head north on Anderson Boulevard during construction. A map has been provided by the City highlighting the temporary lane closure and the banned turns.

Motorists on State Street who wish to travel north are advised to use Richards Street or McKinley Avenue as alternative routes. The southbound direction of Anderson Boulevard will remain accessible for drivers heading towards State Street in either direction. All drivers are urged to be cautious near the intersection and through the work zone.

Notably, the construction is not anticipated to affect water service in the area, and the project is expected to conclude before the start of the evening rush hour.

For further information, individuals can contact the Geneva Public Works Department Water Division at 630-232-1551.
