Geneva residents visited polling stations for the April 1 consolidated election to choose candidates for open positions on the Geneva City Council. The election included contested races for Mayor and aldermanic seats in Wards 3 through 5. Uncontested positions included the City Clerk, Wards 1 and 2, and a second aldermanic seat for a two-year term in Ward 5. Notably, no one ran for the City Treasurer position. Most offices have a four-year term unless otherwise stated.
Unofficial results are available on the Kane County elections website. However, these totals might change as officials finish counting outstanding mail-in ballots. The official election results will be certified later this month.
Following certification by Kane County, those elected will assume their roles at the City Council meeting on Monday, May 5.
