Aurora Township Republicans Chairman Devin Corbett said that America is entering a new era of economic growth, strengthened borders, and a renewed sense of hope under President Trump's leadership. Corbett shared his remarks with the Kane County Reporter on January 20.
According to Politico, Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States on January 20 at noon. His agenda includes mass deportations, sweeping tariffs, and an assertive foreign policy. Supported by a broad and diverse Republican coalition, Trump began his Inauguration Day with a service at St. John’s Episcopal Church, followed by tea with President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. He then proceeded to the Capitol for the swearing-in ceremony and delivered his second inaugural address, crafted by senior aides.
Fox News reported that on Inauguration Day, President Donald Trump signed dozens of executive actions to implement sweeping policy changes. Key priorities include border security, energy reforms, cost-of-living reductions, and ending federal Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs. Actions include declaring a national border emergency, reinstating "Remain in Mexico," building new sections of the border wall, and designating cartels as terrorist organizations. Trump also withdrew from the Paris Climate Accord, ended offshore wind leases, and abolished the Green New Deal. These moves signal a historic shift toward restoring American sovereignty and government efficiency.
Corbett was first elected chairman of the Aurora Township Republican Party in 2024. According to the organization’s website, he is focused on increasing Republican voter turnout, expanding the Party’s membership, and effectively communicating the Party’s positions on issues important to Aurora Township voters.
