State Representative Dan Ugaste (IL) | Representative Dan Ugaste (R) 65th District
House Minority Leader Tony McCombie has introduced two bills aimed at increasing protections for Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) workers. These legislative proposals are intended to enhance the safety of those responsible for safeguarding vulnerable children.
However, McCombie expressed frustration that the majority party and the Governor’s administration have not allowed these bills to be heard.
Amid a murder trial, which has brought attention to the risks faced by DCFS workers, there is a call from lawmakers for stiffer penalties for individuals who harm these employees.
