State Senator Don DeWitte (R-St. Charles) is spearheading a collection drive to restock supplies of household cleaning products and toiletries at the St. Charles (Tri-City) Salvation Army and Food for Greater Elgin Food Pantries. The initiative, which runs through May 24, will accept donations at his legislative offices in West Dundee and St. Charles.

DeWitte stated, “Both of these non-profits have said their supplies for these kinds of items are running low, so I would like to appeal to the people of the 33rd Senate District to provide some assistance.” He emphasized that many individuals in the area depend on these pantries for daily necessities beyond food and expressed hope that those who can help will do so generously.

Senator DeWitte's West Dundee office is located at 641 South 8th Street, while his St. Charles office is situated at 406 Surrey Woods Drive, Suite A. Both offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM.

The suggested donation items include laundry detergent, soap, body wash/shower gel, toilet paper, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, dental floss, hand soap, sanitary napkins, razors, infant/adult diapers, wipes, dish soap, all-purpose cleaner and window cleaner.

Reflecting on past drives DeWitte said “The last time we hosted a collection drive like this we had a phenomenal response." He remains hopeful that this drive will also succeed in replenishing the pantries' dwindling supplies.

For further information about this event or how to contribute please contact Senator DeWitte’s legislative office at (847) 214-8245.
