IPSD 204 Educators Honored At City Council!

Four Indian Prairie School District 204 teachers and administrators were honored at this past week's City Council meeting for their award-winning instruction and administration!

Al Davenport, Principal of Granger Middle School, was recently named the Illinois Middle School Principal of the Year by the Illinois Principals Association! Mr. Davenport leads by example, striving every day to improve the lives of children and his staff through open communication and honesty!

Mark Duker, teacher at Waubonsie Valley High School, was named the Illinois PTA Teacher of the Year by the Illinois PTA! As the Chairperson of the Fine Arts department, Mr. Duker ensures a well-rounded education in the classroom, in addition to leading popular events like the December Prism Concert, Marching Band, and the Fine Arts Festival!

Erin Rodriguez, Principal of Young Elementary School, was named the DuPage County Elementary School Principal of the Year! Among her many contributions, Ms. Rodriguez has served as a mentor to teachers, has made students' social-emotional needs a priority, and has developed strong, trusted relationships focused on student success!

And, Dr. Rachael Mahmood, teacher at Georgetown Elementary School, was named the Far West Suburbs Teacher of the Year by the Illinois State Board of Education! Dr. Mahmood strives to inspire students to change their academic self-image. She makes it her mission to create a learning environment that is engaging, meaningful, culturally relevant, loving, supportive, and fun!

Join us in congratulating these four superstar teachers and administrators for their hard work and dedication to Aurora students in IPSD 204!
