Aris Garcia, the GOP candidate for the 49th House District, has expressed his gratitude after receiving an endorsement from the Winfield Township Republican Party. Garcia is currently running against incumbent State Rep. Maura Hirschauer (D-Batavia).
“I am honored to receive the Winfield Township Republican Party endorsement tonight!” Garcia said on Facebook. “I am proud to be the Conservative America First candidate in my primary.”
The Winfield Township Republican Party reciprocated this sentiment by publicly endorsing Garcia on their social media platform. They posted, "Congratulations Aris Garcia on our endorsement for the 49th State representative position!" on Facebook.
According to the Winfield Township Republican Party, Winfield Township encompasses all or parts of Warrenville, West Chicago, Winfield, Naperville, and the northeast corner of Aurora.
Garcia is a first-generation American who immigrated from Germany. He announced his candidacy for State Representative with a promise to address concerns he believes have been overlooked by the Democratic party. A graduate of the Central Florida Aerospace Academy, Garcia brings a unique perspective to politics with a focus on education in his district. According to Garcia, he is committed to holding politicians accountable for their actions and criticized those who prioritize personal interests over community needs. Garcia also condemned the alleged misuse of political offices as personal "piggy banks," arguing that such actions are detrimental to those they are supposed to serve.
The 49th House District, currently represented by State Rep. Maura Hirschauer (D-Batavia), is located in the far-western suburbs of Chicago and spans across western DuPage County, eastern Kane County, and far-western Cook County. It includes parts or all of Elgin, South Elgin, Bartlett, Wayne, Geneva, West Chicago, Batavia, Winfield, Aurora and Naperville. As per Ballotpedia's information, Hirschauer has announced her intention to run for re-election in the Democratic primary scheduled for March 19. She has been representing the district since January 2021.
