City of Aurora Rules, Administration and Procedure Committee met Nov. 7.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

CALL TO ORDER 

Chairperson Woerman called the meeting to order at 3:03 P.M. 

ROLL CALL    

Present: 4 - Chairperson Ron Woerman, Vice Chair Emmanuel Llamas, Alderman Edward Bugg and Alderwoman Patty Smith  

Absent: 1 - Alderman Carl Franco 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES  

23-0852 Approval of the minutes from the Rules, Administration and Procedure Committee meeting held on October 17, 2023. 

A motion was made by Alderwoman Smith, seconded by Alderman Bugg, that this agenda item be accepted and filed. The motion carried.  

Ayes: 4 

PUBLIC COMMENT

AGENDA 

23-0872 An Ordinance amending Chapter 47 of the City of Aurora Code of Ordinances entitled “Trees, Shrubs and Weeds”.

A motion was made by Vice Chair Llamas, seconded by Alderwoman Smith, that this agenda item be recommended for approval. The motion carried.  

Ayes: 4 

23-0816 A Resolution approving reappointments of Nadia Kanai, Sunil Patel, Nitin Fuldeore and Anu Krishnamurthy to the Indian American Community Outreach Advisory Board.

A motion was made by Alderwoman Smith, seconded by Vice Chair Llamas, that this agenda item be recommended for approval. The motion carried.

23-0874 A Resolution approving the Arboricultural Specification Manual for the City of Aurora.

A motion was made by Alderwoman Smith, seconded by Vice Chair Llamas, that this agenda item be recommended for approval. The motion carried.

23-0894 A Resolution approving the reappointments of Dr. Yolanda Stovall, Keith Wise, Sandra Harrison and Glenda Blakemore to the African American Heritage Advisory Board.

A motion was made by Alderwoman Smith, seconded by Vice Chair Llamas, that this agenda item be recommended for approval. The motion carried.

23-0896 An Ordinance amending Chapter 6 of the Code of Ordinances pertaining to the licensure of retailers authorized to sell alcoholic liquor.

A motion was made by Alderwoman Smith, seconded by Vice Chair Llamas, that this agenda item be recommended for approval. The motion carried.

23-0904 A Resolution approving the appointment of Jersey Kimbrough to the Aurora Youth Council.

A motion was made by Alderwoman Smith, seconded by Vice Chair Llamas, that this agenda item be recommended for approval. The motion carried.

22-0211 An Ordinance Creating Section 2-65 of the Code of Ordinances pertaining to Aldermanic Initiative Funds.

23-0710 An Ordinance amending Chapter 13 of the Code of Ordinances pertaining to the licensure of retailers authorized to sell all tobacco, nicotine, alternative nicotine products or vape products.

A motion was made by Vice Chair Llamas, seconded by Alderwoman Smith, that this agenda item be recommended for approval. The motion carried.

Two items were walked on by Alex Voigt in the Mayor's Office and discussed:  

23-0897 A Resolution authorizing the appointment of Megan Paul and Shannon Gutierrez to the FoxWalk Overlay District Design Review Committee.  

23-0900 A Resolution approving the reappointments of Sherrill Dodson-Lewis, Meloyne Wimbley and the appointment of Gabriel Robinson to the Aurora Housing Authority Board.  

CLOSED SESSION  

ADJOURNMENT  

A motion was made by Vice Chair Llamas, seconded by Alderwoman Smith, that this meeting be adjourned. The motion carried. Chairperson Woerman adjourned the meeting at 4:33 P.M.
