“A day of fun including picnic lunch, games and raffles. Tickets $15 adults, $5 for children. Come meet your neighbors!” the event’s landing page on Facebook reads.

The event will take place on Sunday, July 16, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 pm at the Front Shelter in Randall Oaks Park, located at 1180 N Randall Road. Tickets for the event are priced at $15 for adults and $5 for children. As a token of appreciation for their service, veterans will be granted free admission to the event. In addition to food offerings, the Community Picnic will feature a variety of engaging games and raffles that promise excitement for all attendees. The variety of foods that will be offered during the three-hour event includes hot dogs, grilled corn, fried chicken, watermelon, slaw, and dessert. Attendees are also advised to bring their own chairs.

The Dundee Township Republican Organization (DTRO) serves as the township organization for the Republican Party, representing a diverse membership from various areas including East and West Dundee, Sleepy Hollow, Carpentersville, Algonquin, Barrington, Elgin, and Gilberts. DTRO notes on its website that it is comprised of elected and appointed Precinct Committeemen. The DTRO's mission is to advocate for limited government and conservative values by actively recruiting, training, and empowering citizens to educate voters and achieve electoral success.

On their website, the Elgin Township Republicans align themselves with the legacies of Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan, upholding values of freedom, opportunity and integrity. Their focus on reforming Illinois at the local level aims to enhance the quality of life in Elgin and the entire state. The party's mission includes efforts to educate the electorate, foster loyalty to the Republican Party and its ideals, support the election of Republican Party nominees, and advocate for the aforementioned principles.
