Fourth of July Parade, Concert and Fireworks
The City of Elgin is excited to celebrate the Fourth of July with a parade, concert and fireworks, all occurring on Tuesday, July 4th. This year's theme is "90s Throwback." Activities include the annual Fourth of July Parade and a concert and fireworks display. More information can be found below.
Parade Information
About: Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. located at the intersection of Douglas and Slade. The parade concludes at the intersection of Douglas and Highland, near City Hall. This year there will be no float judging.
Participating in the Parade: Registration for the parade is currently CLOSED. Once your completed registration has been received, staff will be in contact with you regarding next steps. Registration fees begin at $25 for registered not-for-profits and increase to $100 for businesses and other groups.
Fourth of July Concert and Fireworks
About: Festival Park will turn into a time warp taking us back to the 90s on July 4th at 5:00pm including live music, food trucks and drinks, giant lite-brite wall, and a spectacular fireworks display. The event takes place at 132 S Grove Ave, Elgin, IL, 60120.
Food trucks suited for various tastes will be parked on Grove street adjacent to Festival Park starting at 5:00 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy this all day event. No outside alcohol or pets will be allowed at the concert and fireworks. The event concludes with a spectacular fireworks show beginning at approximately 9:20 p.m. and lasting approximately 20-30 minutes.
A free concert kicks off with What's Our Age Again, a Blink-182 cover band from the Chicago-land area, bringing the energy of the decade. How Rude! 90s Tribute Band follows with classic 90s hits from Nirvana, Spice Girls, and more. Larger Than Life: The Ultimate Boyband Tribute headlines the event with all of the boyband songs, dances and costumes.
