Q3 2022 Recap: 6 parolees from Kane County convicted of crimes involving alcohol set for release

There were six offenders convicted of crimes involving alcohol living in Kane County released on parole during the third quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Kane County Reporter.

The data shows all of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes involving alcohol was 47. The youngest parolee was a 28-year-old man sentenced in 2022, and the oldest was a 57-year-old man sentenced in 2021.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Quinn Gabnay. He was convicted in 2016 when he was 46 years old. He is now 52.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
