There were eight offenders convicted of crimes involving alcohol living in Kane County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Kane County Reporter.

The data shows seven men and one woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes involving alcohol was 41. The youngest parolee was a 25-year-old man sentenced in 2018, and the oldest was a 65-year-old man sentenced in 2021.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was David Hatyina. He was convicted in 2013 when he was 51 years old. He is now 61.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
