City of Geneva Natural Resources Committee met March 1.

i. Adam Dagley and Jay started planning 2023 event in January

i. Dan Ludwig continues to monitor the plants.
• River Clean-up Day

i. Barrels are $75 each.
• Greening Geneva Initiative
i. The trees we planted are asleep
ii. Followed up with Kane County. They modified the list and places but ok’d trees to be planted.
iii. Kane County asked if we would be interested in planting trees at the Government Center.
• Wine, Cheese, and Trees
i. WCT 2023 in in the bank!
ii. It was a huge success. Will need a wrap up meeting with three groups to discuss the event.
• Fabyan Preserve Stewardship
i. Workdays began October 8, 2022. Schedule was sent out and posted by City.
• Elm Park Restoration Work

• Dark Sky Initiative
i. NRC to continue to promote the Dark Sky Initiative.
• Tree Ordinance
i. Based on NRC recommendations, there are several sections of the City Code that need to be amended in relation to tree preservation, tree protection, and landscaping.
6. New Initiatives
• Create an education piece to reduce plastic and styrofoam at restaurants.
• Mosquito abatement program awareness for need to spray.
