Ugaste draws attention to article describing Democratic plan for tax overhaul

Rep. Dan Ugaste (R-St Charles) is using his Facebook page to draw attention to an article on The Caucus Blog that says Democratic lawmakers are trying to institute a "wealth tax."

The Caucus Blog is a web page published by House Republicans.

"One new plan for 2023 reintroduces the Governor’s failed tax increase scheme," the Caucus Blog said. "Democrats are hoping taxpayers will change their minds and vote to amend the Constitution to increase taxes and support reckless spending."

"In contrast, Republicans want to live within the state’s means by establishing a revenue estimate to which we gear spending and a balanced budget," The Caucus Blog said. "Additionally, we want the state to look at ways it can innovate to improve service delivery while at the same time cutting costs."
