Mark Carroll for Congress has issued the following press release:

North Aurora, IL, June 4th, 2022 – In another example of detachment from Washington elitists, current IL-11 congressman Bill Foster is now touting a grant request (on his .gov website and on his personal Facebook page) he has made as a part of fiscal year 2023 appropriations that would, if approved, send $4,700,000 into the Fox Valley Park District system for final engineering and construction of a 780 foot long bicycle and pedestrian bridge spanning the Fox River. Mark Carroll For Congress submits that this is the most tone-deaf thing he could be focusing on:

“Instead of bringing pork back to IL-11, maybe Foster could actually do something about the empty grocery store shelves or ridiculous prices,” says Carroll. “You try to show up in the district at a time where constituents are paying two dollars more per gallon of gas compared to June 2021 and say you are proud to return our tax money back to us.”

A few comments from Foster’s own Facebook page as of June 4, 2022:

“So you want credit for getting Illinois taxpayers a portion of their own money back?”

“It’s not federal funding, it’s theft from hardworking Americans.”

“Cut spending…that’s all.”

“People get it. Just look at the responses. We are not as blind to Foster’s agendas as he would lead the common person believe,” states Carroll. Even his graphic is misleading, ‘$4,700,000 -FOR- Fox Valley Park District’ as this is yet to be appropriated.” Carroll continues, “The worst part of it is that we might be thanking this guy for the bicycle and pedestrian bridge. If he and his Democratic friends continue to neglect life, outside of the elitist circle, the ridiculous rise in gas pricing will have us all riding our bicycles everywhere.”

Mark Joseph Carroll is a candidate for Congress in Illinois’ 11th Congressional District endorsed by several townships, organizations, and elected officials. IL-11 encompasses portions of Lake, McHenry, Boone, DeKalb, Kane, DuPage, Cook and Will counties. For more information head to www.markcarrollforcongress.com.
