BPS101 Board of Education Announces New Principal at Alice Gustafson School

The BPS101 Board of Education is pleased to announce that Kristen Stevens will be the next Principal of Alice Gustafson School.

 

Stevens comes to Alice Gustafson with over twenty-five years of educational experience. She has worked as a special education teacher, special education coordinator, assistant principal, and principal all at the elementary level. Through the remainder of the 2021-22 school year, she will continue to serve as the principal of Home Elementary School in Stickney, IL where she has been the principal for the past four years. Stevens currently resides in Yorkville with her husband, Anthony, and their two cats Vader and Violet.

 

In her letter to AGS staff, Stevens said, “I am excited and honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such exceptional students, dedicated staff, and supportive school community members. I feel very fortunate to be part of the Alice Gustafson Elementary learning community and to work with the students, staff, and families.”

 

Stevens will replace Dr. Tim McDermott who will remain in BPS101 in a new position next year.
