Chavez And Veterans Players Provide Offense In 10-2 And 11-3 Losses To #23 St. Xavier

The Judson University Softball Team began what's scheduled to be a 10-games in a six-day span as the Eagles played their last road doubleheader of the season on Monday, losing twice to #23 Saint Xavier 10-2 (5) and 11-3 (6). 

In the first game, Tatyana Chavez hit a solo shot in the second inning, while Sarah Herbert hit a bases-loaded infield single in the fifth to give Judson their second run of the contest. Judson had eight hits in the contest as Gabby Melchiorre and Herbert had two-hit games, while Chavez, Naomi Sweeney, Andi Stephens, and CJ Adams each had one. Sophie Schomer pitched and allowed 9 earned runs (10 total) on 11 hits while walking one and striking out none. 

In the nightcap, Judson scored the game's first three runs as Adam hit an RBI triple in the first and later scored on a Chavez RBI hit. Melchiorre drove in Stephens with an RBI hit in the second inning. Judson once again had 8 hits as Britney Sanchez led the way with two hits, while Melchiorre, Adams, Chavez, Stephens, and Sweeney each had one. Kennedy Dietz pitched 5.2 innings, allowing 11 runs (9 earned) on 15 hits while walking three and striking out 0. 

Judson is scheduled to face Olivet on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
