Final round come back lifts Spartans to victory

The Aurora University men's golf team played come from behind golf on the second-day of the Jim Wetherbee Invitational hosted by Knox College. The Spartans were in fourth place after shooting a 310 on day one and trailed the leader by four strokes. Day two saw the Spartans light up the scoreboard, firing a best round 293 and sprinted to the lead with a four stroke victory.

FINAL SCORE: Aurora University shot a two-round total of 603 (310/293) to win by four strokes.

Scoring Spartans

- Braeden Duncan won medalist honors with a two-round score of 148 (77/71). The 71 was a tournament best round.

- Jack Vercautren finished tied for third with a two-round score of 150 (78/72).

- Scott Boyajian finished tied for third with a two-round score of 150 (76/74).

- Craig Schlegel finished tied for 21st with a two-round score of 155 (79/76).

- Andrew Schrader finished tied for 26th with a two-round score of 156 (80/76).

Individual Spartans

- Carter Sawby finished tied for 17th with a two-round score of 154 (81/73).

- John Hudson finished tied for 26th with a two-round score of 156 (79/77).
