Valley Sheltered Workshop Names Hugo Saltijeral Executive Director

Valley Sheltered Workshop’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce Hugo Saltijeral is the Executive Director of the Valley Sheltered Workshop.

Hugo’s most recent experience in providing leadership, managing personnel, and direction to colleagues, employees, volunteers, and guests is at Hesed House in Aurora, IL. Hugo has a servant’s heart and believes that whether in crisis or not, it is our duty to offer assistance with dignity and respect to each individual.

Hugo is finalizing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration from the University of Arizona Global Campus. He has several years of experience in compassionate leadership, public speaking, and strategic planning experience. He is affiliated with St. Joseph’s Parish in Aurora, IL, and comes with nonprofit board experience as a member of other local 501(c)(3) boards, specializing with a focus on ED Development and Capital Improvement.

Hugo arrived with a passion to continue the original mission created by Reverend Johnstone to create a safe, communal environment for the enrichment of the lives of persons with disabilities and to help them embrace all aspects of their lives including friendship, learning, and above all a source of livelihood.

Valley Sheltered Workshop is a community-based, non-profit organization whose mission is to empower adults with developmental disabilities through employment and an environment for friendship, learning, and above all, a source of livelihood. It is located in Batavia, IL, and has been a vital part of the Fox Valley for more than 50 years.
