This past weekend the Judson Eagles Bowling teams bowled the ITC Sectionals at Stardust Bowl.

On the Men's side, we came away with an 8th place finish, the highest in Judson Men's Team History!   Freshman Sebastian Beth led the way with a 49% strike percentage. He also carried a single pin spare % of 92%  and a multi-pin % of 83%. Sebastian had an incredible second half of the season and led the team in overall statistical performance! Sebastian also finished 40th out of 280 bowlers in the singles portion of the tournament. Sophomore Eddie Zurawski also had a stellar weekend with a 95% single pin % and an 89% multipin percentage. Eddie also made Judson Bowling history by carrying the highest single pin spare % in school history for a season at 94%! Eddie also had a 33rd place finish out of 280 bowlers in the singles portion of the event. Senior Jake Alberts had one of his best performances as an Eagle and showed how much he has grown as a player. He carried an 84% single pin % and was in the lead-off position all weekend to keep us focused. Freshman Owen Farish had another solid weekend with a strike % of 46%. He also had a stellar freshman campaign! Owen also made some history this weekend, finishing 11th out of 280 bowlers in the singles portion of the tournament. This is the highest finish by any Judson Bowler in Team History! Freshman Jimmy Kontos also had a standout season and contributed heavily this past weekend. Jimmy had a strike % of 40% and single pin % of 80%. Sophomore Tom Antonson showed why he is a Captain as he showed how selfless he was all weekend as he didn't get much playing time but was instrumental in keeping the team focused and on track. This event is a 64 all baker game format over two days, and the men's team average was 190.59 – single pin % of 85% - multipin % of 78% and a strike % of 43%. With only one graduating senior, the future is bright for this young team moving forward!

On the Ladies Varsity side, we came away with a 14th place finish. Again the format of 64 baker games over two days is grueling mentally and physically, but these ladies fought until the very end! Freshman Standout Chloe Siezega led the way as she anchored the team the entire weekend and had the highest strike % for both the women's and men's teams at 51%! She also had a fantastic multipin % of 84%. She has been a selfless leader all season, and that is why her team voted her a Captain! Senior Angela Anzalone saved her best performance for last as she carried a 41% strike % for the weekend. Angela bowled every frame and kept our team focused and on track with her experience and leadership. Sophomore Alicia Anton had a solid weekend and is continuing to improve and finished with an 88% single pin % and a 46% strike %! Freshman Captain Brandy Stewart has been stable the entire season and has been called upon to be a designated spare shooter at times, and has performed stellar in those situations. She finished with a 49% strike % and 79% single pin % for the weekend. Freshman Captain Michele Chancey went from a JV player earlier in the season to becoming a solid performer. Michele ended with a superb 73% multipin spare % for the weekend. Sophomore Tina Tindall has been a solid performer all season long and has improved tremendously from her freshman season. Tina is someone that the team relies upon for energy, and she provides that consistently. Tina finished the weekend with a 77% single pin % and 40% strike %.

Freshman Marisa Garcia had an amazing weekend where she bowled 4th and setup Chloe for many ten frame doubles! Marisa continues to expand her game both physically and mentally. She finished the weekend with a 65% multipin %. Freshman Kaitlynn Pillion is another player that worked extremely hard all season long to work her way onto the sectional roster. Kaitlynn added energy and support throughout the tournament. The team averaged 181.66 for the 64 baker games – single pin % of 73% - multi-pin % of 65%, and a strike % of 44%. With only one graduating senior this team has three years to grow together – we see big things ahead for these Lady Eagles.

We also had 2 JV tournament victories – 1 at the Hammer Golden Eagle and one at the Boilermaker. The team finished ranked 41 out of over 200 teams! On the individual side of things, Chloe Siezega had the best freshman season in school history. Chloe ranked 16th out of over 400 rookie bowlers – she had a tournament title at the Boilermaker Classic. She also had two other top 5 All-Tournament teams - one at the Columbia 300 Western Shootout and one at the Motiv Warhawk open. To top all that off, Chloe converted the 7-10 split at the Hoosier Classic. Marisa Garcia had an All-Tournament team at the Boilermaker classic and averaged 166 for the season. Her improvement over this season was excellent, and we see big things from the year moving forward. Angela Anzalone had a top 20 finish at the Kohawk Invite, averaging 205.80 for the weekend.   The improvement of so many ladies on this team is just the tip of the iceberg for what this team's potential is and will be as we move forward together.   Honorable mention goes to players Tina Tindall, Alicia Anton, Brandy Stewart, Michele Chancey, Kaitlynn Pillion, Delaney Brown, Kaylee Mann, Karina Gonzalez, and Sydney Melton.

We also are thrilled and proud that we had 5 Scholar Athletes that were honored at Sectionals this past weekend!  All these athletes are considered Academic All-Americans and carried over a 3.5 GPA.  Brandy Stewart, Chloe Siezega, Owen Farish, Tom Antonson, and James Kontos.  We are extremely proud of the hard work they put in on the lanes but even more importantly in the classroom!!  Amazing job!!

Lastly, we want to wish the best of luck to Jake Alberts and Angela Anzalone as they graduate and move into their prospective professions.  This is not the end it is only the beginning for both of them and they both have tremendous futures ahead.  We will pray for them as they move along in their lives journey but one thing they can know for sure is "ONCE AN EAGLE ALWAYS AN EAGLE!!
