The Aurora University men's volleyball team defeated Lakeland University in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match on Friday night in four exciting sets (25-17,25-22,22-25,25-18).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- AU jumped out in the first set 8-4 behind a kill from Solomon Dail and block from Lucas Meier and Joh McCormack.
- The Muskies tried getting back in the set but AU wouldn't have any of that, going on to win 25-17.
- Lakeland pulled out to an early lead in the second set and AU fell behind 7-4
- The Spartans comeback started with a 5-1 run and AU grabbed a 15-11 lead.
- The Spartans took advantage of a Lakeland timeout and Thomas Kovanic and John McCormack both knocked down kills to win the second set 25-22.
- In the third set, Lakeland gave the Spartans a battle.
- The Spartans and Muskies went back and for the entire set with both teams making small runs for leads.
- After a Lakeland timeout, the Muskies pulled away from the Spartans and would win the set 25-22.
- The fourth set was much like the third, tight throughout.
- With back and forth action early in the set, the Spartans grabbed a 7-5 lead.
-AU then began to pull away but never got a comfortable lead but would go on to win 25-18.
