SEPR Weekly Program Highlights 2/17/22

ADULTS

Investing With Just $25 a Month!

Can investing $25 a month really make a difference? Join me as we discuss this question and explore various investment plans, what stocks, bonds and mutual funds are and how to invest in them, and some easy to implement strategies to get you started in the investment world. Presented by Mike Fulkerson a Personal Financial Advisor and AWMA designee.  This class will be held Monday, February 28 from 6:30-8:30pm at the Municipal Annex.  There is no cost but registration is required.  Section #43002

 

MARTIAL ARTS

Martial Arts classes start the week of February 28.  We offer classes at the Municipal Annex for children 4-7 years old and at National Karate for 8+ years old.  For complete information, please visit www.southelgin.com/programs

Cardio Kickboxing

Cardio-Kickboxing can burn up to 550 calories per class. This class is a fun, full body workout that will get you kicking and punching pads with motivating music. You will learn how to hit pads with boxing techniques like jabs, punches and upper cuts as well as learn how to use the largest muscles in your body, your legs, to really kick yourself into shape! This class is taught by an expert instructor from National Karate & Kickboxing.  This class runs on Wednesday, March 2-May 11 from 6:15-7:15pm at the Municipal Annex.  The cost is $75 for residents and $80 for non-residents.  Section #43101. 

 

CAMP

Spring Break Camp

Calling K-8th grade spring-breakers!! The South Elgin Parks & Recreation Department has some FUN planned for you!  Camp will have great indoor and outdoor activities. Please send your child with a lunch, snack and drink daily. If the minimum number of participants is not met for one particular day, only that day will be cancelled.  Refunds for camp will only be given for cancellations 5 business days or more before the camp date.  Registration Deadline: March 7, 2022 at 5pm.  A $20 late registration fee will be issued after that date if space allows.   Spring Break Camp will run Monday, March 28-Friday, April 1 from 9am-4pm at the Municipal Annex.  The cost is $40 for residents and $50 for non-residents per day.  AM Care and PM Care is available for an additional charge.

 

PRESCHOOL

Preschool Registration Now Open

Registration is now open for the 22/23 school year.  We offer classes for 2’s, 3’s, 4’s and an evening class for 3-5 year olds.  For registration you are required to have a copy of the child’s birth certificate and a $40 non-refundable deposit.  Registration must be completed at Village Hall during normal business hours.  For more information, please visit www.southelgin.com/preschool.  For questions, e-mail kmckinney@southelgin.com. 

 

YOUTH CLASSES

Magician Training 101 – 5-12 years old

Children are guaranteed to have a great time as they learn a collection of Fascinating and mesmerizing tricks.  Amaze family and friends with tricks that involve cards, ropes, coins, mind-reading and more!  While the tricks appear difficult, you will discover they are easy to learn and perform.  All materials are provided, and each participation receives a magic kit to take home.  New tricks are always on the agenda, so even if you have attended a magic class previously, you will learn new tricks each time.  This class will be held on Thursday, March 3 from 5-5:55pm at the Municipal Annex.  The cost is $20 for residents and $27 for non-residents.  Section #58535

Tot Multi-Sport – 3-5 years old

Come enjoy some fun and exercise with South Elgin.  We will focus on sportsmanship of the game, while working on techniques, hand-eye coordination, and motor skills needed to play different sports.  This hour of fun will be what every child will need to laugh and enjoy while learning the basics of multiple sports. These classes will consist of a different sport or activities.  This class will be held Wednesdays, March 16-April 27 from 5:30-6:30pm at Fox Meadow School Gym.  There is no class on March 28.  The cost is $72 for residents and $80 for non-residents.  Section #53842.
