State of Kane County Address

Last Thursday, Madam Chairman Corinne Pierog spoke to Chamber members throughout the county via a virtual presentation. Her address talked about past and upcoming initiatives to support Kane County businesses. Some key points from her talk include:
  • Establishing a county-wide Economic Development Council in 2023
  • Launching a "Fabulous Fox River Trail" for expanded tourism
  • Reviewing the intersection of land use, distribution centers, trucks, and impact upon roads with affects on people's lives
  • Addressing workforce development issues, including the pandemic's affect on women in the workforce and the need for better childcare options
  • She applauded the end of Governor Pritzker's mask mandate as it is disruptive to business, but continues to support COVID-19 testing and vaccination

News and Updates from Our Members

Donations can be taken to the Batavia Public Library through March 10th.

After a two year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Chip In Batavia and its partners are bringing back the popular Prom Dress Give A Way event on Saturday, March 12. Chip In’s mission is to assist low income and homeless Batavia families in crisis. However, this event is open to any Kane County Junior or Senior. The goal is to ensure that all girls, regardless of income status, can enjoy this right of passage and not sit out due to the typically high expense. Read the entire press release.
