Thrower for Representative has issued the following press release:
WEST DUNDEE, IL – Today, Arin Thrower launched her campaign for state representative in the 66th District, encompassing portions of Kane and McHenry counties.
“Illinois’ economy lags behind the economies of neighboring states, education suffers when it is not conducted in person, and crime is widespread, making our communities unsafe,” stated Thrower. “It's time for our state to run efficiently and within budget, and I look forward to taking the experience and success I've had working in city and county government to Springfield so that I can bring positive change back to our communities. For too long, we've been asked to pay higher taxes resulting in tax dollar mismanagement and the creation of long-term financial instability. I will fight for taxpayers and businesses to ensure the promises our leaders make are finally achieved.”
Arin Thrower started her professional career as a reporter for an ABC affiliate in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in 1997. She joined the Golf Channel in Orlando, Florida the following year, where she produced a variety of programming, including the reality series ‘The Big Break’. Her eight years spent in television allowed her to travel across the U.S. and Europe. The success of her position depended upon ensuring productions were organized, timely, and within budget.
Arin was elected the Dundee Township Supervisor in 2021. Previously, she led communications teams at both the city and county level, including serving as the Director of Communications for the third-largest county in Illinois. She also enjoyed several years promoting and fostering the arts as the Managing Director at a county arts agency and is the founder and director of a children’s theatre program in her community.
Arin is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a degree in communications. She and her husband Scott live in West Dundee with their daughter. They attend Immanuel Lutheran Church in East Dundee.
