Aurora West’s Enriquez leads North Central men’s soccer to first postseason in program history

Aurora native and Aurora West graduate Jaziel Enriquez has scored seven goals, starting 19 of 20 games to lead North Central’s men’s soccer team to its first postseason appearance in school history.

Enriquez, a freshman, leads the Cardinals with 59 shots on goal.

North Central (20-1-1, 7-1-0 CCIW) also won their first CCIW Tournament title last Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Wheaton. The Cardinals will face Loras College of Dubuque, Ia. (13-6-2, 5-2-1 ARC) in the opening round at 1:30 PM. 

The weekend host for the Cardinals will be St. Olaf (17-2-1, 10-0 MIAC) who will face Dominican (13-3-2, 9-2-1 NACC) in the other first round matchup at 11 AM. Saturday's opening round winners will advance to play for the Regional title on Sunday at 1 PM.

Enriquez played for coach Joe Sustersic at West Aurora. He led the Blackhawks to an 18-0 record his senior year.
