Batavia Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Aug. 23

Happy Monday!

According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, the dog days of summer were over on August 11. Heat-wise, we beg to differ! We certainly hope that you are staying cool and enjoying the last week of August.

Nominations Needed!

Each year at the Harvest Celebration, the Batavia Chamber of Commerce is honored to award one outstanding Chamber member with the Donna Dallesasse Award. This highly regarded award is named for Donna Dallesasse, the first full-time Executive Director of the Batavia Chamber who successfully led the Chamber for over 16 years. Now, the Donna Dallesasse Award is given annually to recognize an individual Chamber member in good standing for outstanding commitment and dedication to the Chamber’s mission, vision, and values.

Potential awardees will be nominated by Chamber members in good standing. Nominations should be made in the form of a letter of recommendation to the Chamber of Commerce. (This letter can be in an email to margaret@bataviachamber.org.) The Board of Directors of the Chamber will evaluate and select the awardee. Please send your nominations by the end of the day today, August 23! Read the complete criteria and view a list of previous recipients on our website; click here

Mayor's Weekly Update

Many of you enjoy these updates; here is a link to watch the video recorded on Friday, August 20. He talked about the upcoming Windmill City Festival this weekend and the Batavia Block Party, to be held on Sunday, Sept. 5. The Block Party is a Batavia MainStreet event, held downtown Batavia.

We continually update our home page, bataviachamber.org when new resources and information comes out. Also, check our calendar for new events from us and the community. Make certain you check the calendars regularly!

As always, we are now, and will be in the future, here for you.

Most sincerely,

Margaret, Patti and Shirley
Your Batavia Chamber of Commerce Staff

The Batavia Chamber of Commerce was thrilled to congratulate nonprofit member Tri City Health Partnership on Saturday, Aug. 21 with a ribbon cutting ceremony, along with the Geneva Chamber of Commerce and the St. Charles Area Chamber of Commerce.

Tri City Health Partnership's mission is "to provide quality health care in an environment of mutual respect, to members of the community without the ability to pay for services." The organization is celebrating their 20th anniversary as well as the completion of expansion project that will allow the clinic to help more people.

The expansion to a second building next to the original at 318 Walnut St. in St. Charles means that dental services will take place at the 318 address, with expanded medical services next door in the new location. Learn more about Tri City Health Partnership by visiting their website

News and Updates from Our Members

True to their tagline, Service Above Self, the Batavia Rotary Club offered to match a recent fundraising effort by Fox Valley Food For Health. Because of the the Rotarians' donation of $5,000, $10,918 was raised this summer. With the money, Fox Valley Food for Health recently returned (after a summer break) to delivering nutritious meals to local families going through treatment for serious illness, such as cancer. Area teens cook the meals and adult volunteers deliver them. Congratulations on a job well done to two of our nonprofit members!
