Aurora C. I. Johnson Elementary School issued the following announcement on Jan. 8.
Erin’s Law is a mandate in the state of Illinois requiring all schools to adopt and implement a program addressing the prevention of child sexual abuse through the provision of an age appropriate curriculum for all students. The purpose of the upcoming lesson is to provide students with the tools needed for personal safety and to provide a nurturing and caring environment open for disclosure of any incidents. As part of this plan, our school social worker, Ms. Lodge will be presenting a Personal Body Safety presentation in your student’s virtual e-learning classroom this school year.
