Republican incumbent Keith Wheeler beat Democrat candidate Kate Monteleone for the district 50 House seat and expressed his gratitude to voters for their support.
“We are so grateful for the voters of #Illinois 50th District for their support! Good night for @ilhousegop! Thank you!” tweeted Wheeler.
He also posted a picture of the election result showing that he polled 34 962 votes which translated to 56.65 of total votes cast against Monteleone’s 26 819 which was 43.4% of the vote.
