Illinois State House District 50 issued the following announcement on Jan. 29.
Assistant House Minority Leader Keith Wheeler, R-Oswego, issued the following statement in response to Governor JB Pritzker’s State of the State address delivered to a joint session of the General Assembly:
“Families here in the Fox Valley are saddled by some of the highest property taxes in the nation. Illinois continues to lag in job creation and economic growth, doing a disservice to families who want to live, work or retire in our great state. We can do better. If we work together in a bipartisan way and compromise – just like we did last year to pass a balanced budget and job-creating reforms – I know we can tackle our state’s sky-high property tax problem and create more Illinois jobs for Illinois families. I’m ready to get to work and find areas of common ground with the Governor so that we can make Illinois a more affordable place for families to live and for small businesses to grow and thrive.”
Representative Wheeler serves the 50th District, which includes portions of Aurora, Batavia, Geneva, Campton Hills, Elburn, Montgomery, Oswego, Plano, St. Charles, Sugar Grove and Yorkville.
