Illinois State House District 70 issued the following announcement on Oct. 17
I introduced and passed a bill to allow NIU to sell property off campus and keep the money for a specific purpose, rather than having to send it back to the State. Because of this, according to NIU Chief of Staff Matt Streb, "that money can be put to improve classrooms on campus to help with roofs and a variety of other things that we desperately need."
