City of Aurora Civil Service Commission met May 2. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the commission:

Members present: 


     Chairman Carmen Armstrong

     Vice Chairman John Perkins – excused

     Commissioner Timothy Oelker – excused

     Commissioner Ramona Wood

     Commissioner Leticia Morales-Perez

Guest – Mayor Richard Irvin

Chairman Armstrong called the meeting to order at 4:05 pm

OLD BUSINESS

Commissioner Wood motioned to table to waive the CCO exams for the building and permits department. Commissioner Morales-Perez seconded. Motion passed.

NEW BUSINESS

Commissioner Wood motioned to approve the April 18, 2019 meeting minutes. Commissioner MoralesPerez seconded. Motion passed.

Commissioner Morales-Perez motioned to approve the April 26, 2019 special meeting minutes.

Commissioner Wood seconded. Motion passed.

Commissioner Wood motioned to strike 2018 Police Officer Eligibility list candidate Michael Perotti from the eligibility list per his request. Commissioner Morales-Perez seconded. Motion passed.

Commissioner Wood motioned to waive the selection of 1 in the top 6 candidates for the CCO Building Inspector Civil service eligibility list. Commissioner Morales-Perez seconded. Motion passed.

Commissioners used a lottery system to break ties for applicants with tied scores on the customer service rep/acct clerk civil service eligibility list.

Commissioner Wood motioned to certify the customer service rep/acct clerk eligibility list.

Commissioner Morales-Perez seconded. Motion passed.

Commissioners reviewed April 2019 payroll. April 2019 will be submitted to the payroll department with appropriate changes.

Commissioner Wood motioned, seconded by Commissioner Morales-Perez to adjourn the meeting at 4:35 p.m. Motion passed.
