The campaign committee of assessor candidate Curt Karas, Friends of Curt Karas, returned a $3,171.14 contribution from Curt Karas on July 10, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Candidates sometimes refuse or return contributions because they do not want their campaign to be affiliated with the donor. Karas has not made any other contributions to Curt Karas in the past 12 months.
