City of Elgin issued the following announcement on Feb. 2.
A downtown snow removal operation is planned for Monday night, February 4 into Tuesday morning, February 5. Our crews will be removing snow from sidewalks and parking areas in the Central Business District. Removal operations begin at 9:00 p.m. Monday and will conclude Tuesday morning. A temporary parking restriction will be in effect from 7:00 p.m. Monday until 6:00 a.m. Tuesday to allow crews full access to the work area. Please use the Centre, Spring Street and Fulton Street parking decks as alternative parking locations during that time.
Areas scheduled for snow removal include:
• Douglas from Kimball to Chicago
• Grove from Chicago to Spring/Fulton
• Spring from Kimball to Fulton
• Chicago from State to Center
• Highland from State to Center
• Kimball St from State to Center
• National St bridge
• Civic Center parking lot
