CITY OF ELGIN: Toys Do Not Belong In Your Curbside Recycling Cart

Donatetoys

City of Elgin issued the following announcement on Dec. 6.

It's Waste Wednesday! With the holiday season among us, you may be clearing out some toys to make room for new ones. Toys DO NOT belong in your curbside recycling cart. Even though they may be made of plastic, they cannot be recycled in the curbside program with Waste Management. Instead, use one of the following options to recycle your toys:

1) Donate toys in good condition to a local charity

2) Place toys in a Simple Recycling orange bag and place at your curb on your regular collection day. Need a Simple Recycling bag? Visit http://simplerecycling.com/bag-request/ to request bags.
