Good morning, Elgin. We had about half of our snow team out on the streets from 3:00-9:30 a.m. ensuring safe driving conditions. Elgin received about an inch of snow accumulation. We will continue to monitor and address slick spots as temperatures drop this evening. Drive safe! ❄️
MESSAGE FROM SNOW COMMAND: Snow that was originally expected today won't make its way to the area until after midnight tonight. Today, we were able to keep half of our trucks in leaf collection mode, while the others were prepped for snow operations. Drivers will be hitting the roads after 3:00 a.m., with current forecasts calling for 1 to 3 inches of snow accumulation. Pavement accumulation will likely be less than an inch. Drivers will remain in route through the Friday morning rush hour to ensure safe driving conditions. Be safe, Elgin!
